When and what is Prime Day?
It won’t be long before the shopping behemoth that is Amazon Prime Day hits us. Starting Tuesday July 12 and lasting 48 hours until the end of Wednesday July 13, it’s one of the biggest sales events of the calendar year and a great time to find savings on popular items you’ve had your eye on. For Amazon, Prime Day is the biggest sales event of the year, even eclipsing Black Friday Juggernaut sales.
With only days to go until Prime Day launches, what do you need to know ahead of time? To get started you need to be a Prime member, to get the most out of Prime Day deals, although you can still shop Prime Day without an active subscription, you’ll miss out on some of the exclusive deals. To get an Amazon Prime membership, you must sign up for a free trial (if you don’t already have a Prime membership) or pay a monthly subscription fee of $14.99 or $139 per year.
Prime Day originated in 2015 as an event marking Amazon’s 20th anniversary and has grown in size over the years, also providing Amazon with a mid-year sales event outside of Black Friday. and the holiday season.
More than Prime Day
Remember, it’s not just Amazon Prime Day! Amazon competitors will all take the opportunity to jump on this fake holiday sales extravaganza and promote their sales. You can expect companies like Newegg, Best Buy, Walmart, Dell, and Lenovo to have their own sale offers that coincide with Prime Day.
We’ll be looking for great deals and bargains to help you save a few bucks on select PC hardware and peripherals, so if you’re on the hunt for a new or second monitor, or if those old gaming headphones have the look a little less good to wear, so hopefully we’ve got you covered. Starting with the first pre-Prime Day deals, we’ll be preparing for the main event.
This page will be updated continuously during the week and up until Prime Day itself, so if any new deals appear they’ll be listed here – be sure to check back daily for updates.
